Surfacetec- New expertise in coatings research
Release date: 26 Oct 2005
Surfacetec is a new service being launched at Tin Technology Ltd aimed at the coatings industry. Surfacetec aims to offer specialist testing and an independent technical support service for the coatings sector. Whilst Surfacetec is part of an organisation traditionally associated with tin, the company has developed over many years the skills and expertise to investigate any surface finish; not just those based on tin.

The launch of Surfacetec sees Tin Technology further applying its research-based expertise in industrial markets as demand increases for independent services and support in many areas of coatings technology. A well-equipped chemical and metallurgical analysis laboratory, that can work with clients on long-term projects or provide a rapid turn around for QC problems, supports the Surfacetec services. Specific services offered include reformulation studies, new product development work, process evaluations and literature searches.

“As industry streamlines itself a lot of knowledge becomes lost; so when there is a need for research into surface finishes and coatings often there is no longer an in-house expertise,” comments Coatings Manager Dr. Charlie Kerr. “This is where Surfacetec can help. We will be promoting our services in coating research and testing to a wide range of metal finishing industries.”

These laboratories have a well-established reputation in supplying support to a diverse range of industries, from electronics, mining and engineering to corrosion prevention and control.

Further details of the services which Surfacetec can offer can be obtained by contacting Tom Perrett on 01727 871314 or by emailing tom.perrett@tintechnology.com
